Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation for high-risk patients and collaborate with the nursing team to maintain a safe environment. This role supports basic activities of daily living and aims to enhance the patient experience with attentive, compassionate care.

Applicants should have healthcare experience (1+ year preferred) and be able to obtain BLS within 30 days. De‑escalation training is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire
• De-Escalation Training required within first 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room.
• You will accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.
• You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures and self-harm prevention.
• You will perform room assessment regularly and after any visitations.
