Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is seeking a full-time patient support role for the Day shift. You will assist nursing staff with transporting patients, equipment and supplies, transporting specimens, delivering patient trays, answering phones, and helping visitors when not providing direct patient observation.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and BLS CPR certification; prior clinical or healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with transporting patients, equipment, supplies, specimens, patient trays, answering phones, and visitor assistance when not providing direct patient observation.
• Intervenes to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and seeks immediate assistance for escalating incidents.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality; respects patient rights.
• Creates clear and accurate documentation of patient status and activities during shift.
• Promotes positive patient interactions and family-centered care in all decisions and actions.
