Job summary

AdventHealth Kansas is seeking a patient-care assistant to join our Day Shift team. You will support nursing staff by transporting patients, delivering equipment and supplies, and assisting with patient meals and documentation while upholding privacy and safety across the unit.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and Basic Life Support (BLS). CPR certification is required, with 1+ clinical experience preferred in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (Required).
• 1+ clinical experience in a physician office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support – CPR Certification (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with transporting patients, delivering equipment and supplies, transporting specimens, delivering patient trays, answering phones, and assisting visitors when not providing direct patient observation.
• Intervenes to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and seeks immediate assistance for escalating incidents.
• Demonstrates knowledge and respect for patient rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Creates clear and accurate documentation of patient status and activities during shift.
• Promotes positive patient interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered care in all decisions and actions.
