Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support nursing staff during night shifts. You will transport patients and supplies, deliver equipment, and assist visitors when not on direct observation, ensuring safety and smooth operations.

The role emphasizes patient privacy, accurate shift documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to uphold high-quality care standards. A High School diploma and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• 1+ clinical experience, with physician office or other healthcare related environment preferred.
• 1+ of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with tasks such as transporting patients, delivering equipment and supplies, transporting specimens, delivering patient trays, answering phones, and assisting visitors when not providing direct patient observation.
• Intervenes to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and seeks immediate assistance for escalating incidents.
• Demonstrates knowledge and respect for patient rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Creates clear and accurate documentation of patient status and activities during shift.
• Promotes positive patient interactions and advocates for patients and family-centered care in all decisions and actions.
