VCU Health is seeking a Patient Safety Associate to provide 1:1 safety observation and basic direct patient care under RN direction. The role focuses on high-risk patients, safety checks, and compassionate support on the unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: CNA or Medical Assistant program.
• Current enrollment in healthcare/related degree program.
• Current AHA BLS HCP certification.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 safety observation for high-risk patients.
• Perform verbal intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment and perform room/environment checks.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.
• Document care and pertinent observations per policy.
• Communicate patient concerns to the RN or licensed practitioner.
• Participate in team meetings and mandatory unit activities.
