Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Patient Safety Associate to provide direct observation and assist with activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient requiring direct observation.

Assists with basic unit functions as directed by the professional nurse. This role emphasizes strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills and requires successful completion of PSA, CPI, and CPR trainings.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete Patient Safety Associate (PSA), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) trainings.
• Professional experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Insures that contacts with other health care members are friendly and courteous.
