Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is hiring a patient sitter to support the care team with continuous observation and safety for assigned medical patients. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse in a fast-paced hospital environment.

This role requires 18+ years of age, good communication, basic computer skills and the ability to stay alert to safety issues. Evening, day, and night shifts including every other weekend are possible depending on need.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have basic communication skills with a wide variety of staff, patients and families.
• Basic computer skills needed; willingness to learn hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned patients to maintain safety through continuous observation and surveillance.
• Communicate with the RN and care team to ensure a safe patient environment.
• Complete duties under the direct supervision of the RN.
