Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Patient Safety Companion (PRN) to support staffing offices and hospital supervisors. Under RN supervision, you monitor patients to ensure safety and assist with daily living activities, while also providing clerical support at the nurse’s station.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS and MUSC Safety Care Training within 4 weeks of hire, with certification maintained thereafter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• MUSC Safety Care Training completed within 4 weeks of hire and maintained.
• Maintain BLS certification throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient closely at all times to ensure safety.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as directed.
• Provide clerical support for the nurse’s station as assigned.
• Notify the Registered Nurse immediately of any patient concerns.
