Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Patient Safety Advocate to support patient safety initiatives within a busy care environment.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will maintain patient observation, ensure a safe and clean environment, and communicate important updates to the care team, while displaying professionalism and teamwork with patients, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visual observation of assigned patient.
• Assist in providing a safe and clean environment.
• Communicate observations to the assigned nurse on a regular basis.
• Communicate in a professional manner and demonstrate respect for patient, families/significant others and other health care members.
• Offer support to peers and staff.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Safety Advocate maintains constant visual observation of assigned patient. Assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Communicates observations of the patient's activity and behavior on a regular basis to the assigned nurse. Communicates in a professional manner and demonstrates respect for patient, families/significant other and other health care members. Offers support to peers and staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.

Training the Hospital will provide

• BLS (AHA) certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter.
