Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member to maintain cleanliness across hospital areas. You will follow established procedures, set up equipment, and perform housekeeping tasks to ensure a sanitary environment for patients and staff.

The role requires six months of customer service experience, strong communication, reading, writing and math abilities, and the ability to work independently as part of the patient-care team.

Qualifications

• Six months demonstrated customer service related work experience required.
• Excellence in customer service and communication with patients and staff.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Follow department procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Set up equipment and ready for use with necessary supplies.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure sanitary conditions.
• Keep vents free of dust (high dusting).
• Perform trash removal and recycling duties.
• Handle and dispose of contaminated items safely (medical waste and sharps).
• Maintain bed management system for room availability and turnover.
