Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Environmental Services, you will perform a variety of housekeeping duties, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure proper disposal of waste.

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work with a care team are essential. Six months of customer service experience is preferred, with training provided by Environmental Services.

Qualifications

• Six months customer service related work experience required.
• Must successfully complete a training program provided by Environmental Services Department.
• Excellent Customer Service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to work independently.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Follow department procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain sanitary areas.
• Handle trash removal and recycling, including sharps and medical waste.
• Respond to spill clean-ups and safety-related issues.
• Maintain bed management data and support patient care team.
