Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in New Haven, CT, is seeking an Environmental Associate to join the Environmental Services team. You will support nursing staff, escort patients, transport them between areas, and help maintain patient safety and comfort across hospital spaces.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and six months of customer service experience. Training will be provided by Environmental Services, and you will work independently and as part of the patient care team to keep areas

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months demonstrated customer service related work experience required. Must successfully complete a training program provided by the Environmental Services Department and achieve competence in all duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care, escort patients, and observe age-specific considerations.
• Perform housekeeping to ensure sanitary conditions and stock supplies.
• Perform minor repairs and coordinate with Engineering for maintenance.
• Obtain patient supplies, maintain supply inventories, and reconcile orders.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness; monitor lifepacs, monitors, and other devices.
• Attend ongoing training and retraining programs.
