Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, seeks a Part-time Food Service Room Service/Diet Rep to obtain and process patient meal orders, coordinate diet changes, and support tray assembly, delivery, nourishments, and related services.

The role involves processing orders via computer, fax, or written formats, with weekend commitments and a rotating shift. Prior clerical and bilingual abilities are valued, and health system mission alignment is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or four years of related work experience.
• Clear, courteous communication via phone, in person or in writing.
• Ability to read and write simple to moderately complex instructions in English.
• Spanish language ability is desirable.
• Basic arithmetic skills and ability to use common clerical tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of diet orders and diet order changes with meal preferences, tray assembly, delivery, nourishments, tube feeding and supplements.
• Receive requests for diet changes via computer, fax or written format during down time.
• Make necessary changes and updates computer, printout and Room Services order system as needed.
• Process Room Service customer orders, including patient/family initiated orders and those patients requiring assistance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Support the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
