Job summary

Harmon Memorial is seeking an EVS/Environmental Services staff member to maintain cleanliness in patient care areas in dayshift operations. You will follow infection prevention policies and disinfecting procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires ability to work quickly in patient rooms, handle waste per regulations, and uphold hospital standards. A patient-focused, team-oriented attitude is essential for success at Harmon Memorial.

Qualifications

• Meets dress code standards and wears proper uniform.
• Completes annual education and health screening requirements.
• Follows OSHA, JCAHO, and state health codes.
• Wears I.D. badge daily and uses time clock.
• Demonstrates teamwork and upholds EVS department goals.
• Uses proper chain-of-command to resolve issues.
• Adheres to department policies and reports violations.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Attends department meetings and trainings.
• Maintains a positive, service-oriented approach with customers.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient care areas according to procedures.
• Prepare cleaning materials and transport to work area.
• Clean patient rooms (furniture, floors, restrooms, etc.) per procedures.
• Complete dismissal/transfer rooms within 30–45 minutes.
• Handle, transport, and dispose of waste per regulations.
• Maintain EVS room and supplies in neat condition.
• Operate personal protective equipment as required.
• Manage time to complete duties daily.
• Show compassion and courtesy to patients and families.
