Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Coordinator, Patient Relations to act as a liaison between patient families, clinicians, and hospital staff, handling questions about Patient Bill of Rights and guiding stakeholders through policy procedures. The role includes rounding, documenting concerns, and escalating to the Patient Relations Specialist for timely resolution.

Responsibilities include daily unit visits, addressing patient/family concerns, and supporting hospital-wide patient experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 2 years' experience or 60 college credits with 4 years of experience.
• Some formal training in medical interpretation is desirable.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes admitted patients and their family members and introduces the services of the hospital.
• Conducts daily visits on assigned units to determine non-clinical needs and concerns.
• Investigates and facilitates resolution of quality of care concerns/complaints for all patients, families, or visitors.
• Initiates appropriate service recovery methods to resolve concerns and directs inquiries to appropriate staff for resolution.
• Participates in hospital-wide Patient Experience initiatives to improve patient/family experience.
