Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative for the Ascension St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital location in Tennessee.

The role is PRN, as needed, with a minimum 48 hours per month and 24 on-call shifts; you’ll be the first friendly face patients meet when they check in. You will navigate registrations, answer questions, and gather accurate information quickly in a fast-paced environment, while building trust with patients during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately.
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training!).
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations.
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time.
