Connecticut Orthopaedics is seeking a Registration Specialist in Wallingford, CT. The role focuses on verifying insurance benefits, referrals, and pre-authorizations for workers' compensation, ensuring accurate patient registrations and efficient pre-estimation processes.

You will interact with patients to collect insurance and demographic information, handle pre-payments, and coordinate with referrals and payer systems. This is an on-site, Monday–Friday position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience required.
• Experience with Epic, Amkai, or EMR systems is helpful.

Job Summary:

The Registration Specialist is primarily responsible for verifying insurance benefits, referrals, prior authorization for worker's compensation, and pre-estimation needs. The registration associate acts as an expert resource to all staff within the department and the CBO, related to the processes associated with registering patients, referrals, and worker's compensation pre-authorizations. The Registration Associate demonstrates a service orientation that consistently aims at exceeding client expectations, and which contributes positively to a greater working environment.

• Verifies eligibility utilizing Epic, Amkai, Availity, Medicaid, Medicare, and similar websites to ensure proper registrations are completed prior to patients entering the facility.
• Collect pre-payments from patients for non-covered procedures and self-pay appointments.
• Interact with patients to collect correct insurance/demographic information via email, or phone.
• Serve as a liaison in all Connecticut Orthopaedic office’s related to registration, referrals, workers compensation, registration, and pre-estimation needs.
• Add Insurance company/plans, employers, referrals and provider information
• Handle Workers' compensation authorizations and enter all pertinent information into Epic and/or Amkai as appropriate.
• Achieves excellence in performance by working with others within the CBO and with tasks and projects related to external vendor relationships.

• Familiarization of interfaces and applications that gather registration data, such as patient demographics, as well as knowledge of insurance verification and payer registration denial processes.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent; supplemented with three (3) years of related work
• EXPERIENCE: Preferred Experience in Epic, Amkai, Practice Management and EMR, Payer Eligibility Web Sites is helpful, Customer service skill set
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Location & Schedule

• Wallingford, CT. This is an on-site position.
• Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
