Job summary

Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists Pc in Hamden is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist for our Urgent Care. You will greet patients, check in, collect co-pays, and manage paperwork at the front desk.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, two years front desk medical practice experience, EMR familiarity, and knowledge of insurance authorizations. Orthopaedic/Urgent Care background preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Determine fees and process co-pays, properly record information.
• Maintain cash drawer and balance cash per procedure.

JOB SUMMARY

CT Orthopaedics is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist for our Hamden Urgent Care. In this role, you will work at the front desk of our medical office and assist our patients and other visitors. Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, and processing paperwork.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

• Saturday 8:45am-4:00pm & Sunday 8:45am-1:00pm

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer orientation
• Demonstrative initiative and ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational skills and systems aptitude
• Solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge on pre-approvals with insurance companies
• Knowledge of Workman's Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accidents is a plus

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet patients and visitors, check in patients, verify insurance
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information into the Electronic Medical Record
• Determine fees and process appropriate co-pays, properly record information
• Maintain appropriate levels of cash and balance cash drawer according to procedure

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate of Arts degree, Medical Administrative certificate or higher preferred
• Minimum of two years of front desk experience with a medical practice, including electronic medical record-keeping and insurance authorizations
• Orthopaedic or Urgent Care background preferred
