Job summary

Claiborne Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist for Admitting and Registration. This full-time day-shift role involves coordinating outpatient scheduling, collecting payments, verifying benefits, and ensuring accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks.
• Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum one year experience in a hospital or financial setting OR minimum three years of total customer facing/customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate centralized scheduling of outpatient procedures.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification from third-party payers.
• Collect co-payments/deposits and generate receipts for payer posting.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist patients with registration and direct to appropriate departments.
