Job summary

Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) is seeking a Reproductive Health Specialist (Medical Assistant) for the San Ramon Health Center. This full-time role involves front desk operations, insurance verification, patient registration, and coordinating appointments to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The position requires strong customer service, bilingual English and Spanish skills, and the ability to work across multiple health center locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a receptionist or office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurance plans preferred.
• Willingness to travel to nearby centers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out patients and schedule appointments in Epic EPM/EHR.
• Verify insurance, registration, and collect payments.
• Greet patients and communicate wait times and appointment availability.
• Follow opening/closing procedures and coordinate with back-office staff.
• Assist with patient eligibility for funding and apply sliding fee discounts.
