Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in patient financial services or insurance processes preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-registration/registration processes, verifies eligibility and obtains authorizations, submits notifications and verifies authorizations for services.
• Verifies and understands insurance benefits, collects patient responsibility based on estimates at the time of service or during the pre-registration process.
• May provide financial counseling to patients and their families; assists with Medicaid applications and financial assistance programs.
• Acts as a liaison between patient, billing, vendors, physician offices and payors to maximize account receivables performance.
• Communicates with physicians and hospital staff to resolve issues and meet patient financial services needs.
• Meets monthly productivity goals and maintains accuracy; documents thoroughly and supports teamwork.
• Provides various patient and financial services tasks, may transport patients or recapture deposits as needed.
• Follows policies and professional standards; delivers excellent customer service daily.
