Job summary

Medical Center Health System is seeking a Patient Care & Registration Assistant to support the nursing unit’s daily operations on site in Odessa, TX. Under supervision, you will perform clerical and receptionist tasks, assist with patient care, and handle registration and basic billing information to promote smooth at-service flow and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or transfer to department.
• BLS certification required upon hire or transfer to department.
• Experience in medical field is preferred and includes knowledge of admitting/registration, customer service, receivables management, and billing regulations.
• Strong organizational abilities and proficiency in professional customer service; effective teamwork and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing unit activities; perform clerical, receptionist, coordination duties, patient care, and maintain the area.
• Conduct registration and obtain financial information for patients accessing services; review account information to optimize collections and expedite reimbursement; ensure compliance; obtain signatures on forms.
• Work with common office software and communicate effectively, in person or by phone.
