Job summary

Providence Swedish Issaquah is seeking a patient access coordinator responsible for coordinating information and support for patient flow in the Emergency Department. You will perform front line customer service, handle patient interviews to collect demographics, and guide patients through registration and initial billing questions.

This role supports financial counseling, helps patients explore aid programs, and acts as a POS team expert to ensure accurate data and smooth admissions.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree.
• 2 years' experience in a medical setting with inpatient or outpatient admitting.
• Patient Registration or financial counseling or insurance and medical terminology experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information and support for patient flow in hospital and ED.
• Provide front line customer service, reception and registration.
• Interview patients and families to collect demographics and financial data.
• Answer general billing, insurance or collection questions/concerns.
• Assist with financial aid paperwork and explore coverage options.
• Serve as POS team expert to ensure accurate patient information and admissions.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and cover shifts as needed.
