Job summary

The Patient Registration Representative is a part-time role within the Heart Center at Kansas Health System. You will register inpatients and outpatients, verify demographics and insurance, and collect co-pays as needed to ensure smooth patient encounters.

Despite the flexible part-time schedule, you will maintain a professional image, balance the cash drawer daily, and support other admitting duties as required by the department.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1 or more years of experience in clerical, registration and/or customer service within a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatients and outpatients for the assigned department.
• Obtain and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Enter information accurately in the computer system.
• Greets patients and family members and collects needed details.
• Collect co-payments or deposits as appropriate.
• Balance cash drawer at end of day.
• Explain policies and obtain consent for treatment and forms.
• Adhere to Medicare/Medicaid and other insurance rules and regulations.
• Provide coverage across Admitting when needed.
