Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Patient Registrar I for the Clerical Float Pool at the Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center in Albuquerque, NM. This PRN/float pool role focuses on accurate patient registration and data capture to minimize denials while guiding patients through e-signature documents and billing questions.

You will coordinate patient encounters, manage financial obligations, and assist with insurance eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Nine (9) months of experience in office, healthcare or customer service preferred.
  • Must pass EPIC competency for Registration upon completion of Epic Clerical Training.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and manage the encounter/episode process.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns in the moment using appropriate communication.
  • Monitor lobby cleanliness and comfort; keep patients informed of delays.
  • Collect accurate patient data and guide discussions on e-signature documents.
  • Explain documents requiring signatures and respond to questions about billing and hospital operations.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist with patient financial obligations; refer to Financial Advocate as needed.

Presbyterian is hiring a Patient Registrar I-AC Clerical Float Pool.Coordinates the encounter or episode process for our patients and consumers by performing activities related to patient registration. Accuracy of data capture to reduce denials is paramount. Secure financial payment at time of service including co-insurance, copayments, residual balances, self-pay and deductible monies due. Illustrate insurance contract requirement knowledge and use of tools to respond to network provider questions. Explain documents which require patient or representative signatures. Type of Opportunity: PRN Job Exempt: No Job is based: Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center Work Shift: Days (United States of America)Responsibilities:Addresses and attempts to appropriately resolve complaints in the moment by using key words at key timesAbility to manage conflict and appropriately request the help of a supervisor when needed.Monitor and maintain the lobby waiting areas for cleanliness and to offer comfort cart rounding to the patients and families. Keep patients informed of delays.Performs the patient registration process. Manage the accurate collection of patient data which includes but is not limited to;Guide informed dialogue with patients and patients representatives regarding e-signature documents and offer printed copies during each registration. Able to answer questions regarding hospital and departmental operations, policies and procedures, including but not limited to Provider Based BillingDemographic dataInsurance critical elementsInvestigate insurance eligibility via electronic tools.Collects identified patient financial obligation amounts including residual balance if applicableRefers as appropriate to on site Financial Advocate, or for uninsured to the Financial Advocacy CenterFollows PMG cash handling policies and balances dailyQualifications:High school or equivalent Experience:A minimum of nine (9) months of work experiences in office, healthcare or customer service environment is required.Must pass EPIC competency for Registration at completion of Epic Clerical Training class.
