Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a driven Recruitment Manager to lead patient enrollment across a portfolio of clinical trials in Ocala, FL. You will blend hands-on patient engagement with team leadership, marketing oversight, and data-driven performance management in a fast-moving environment.

You will manage a team of Recruitment Specialists, drive KPIs, and optimize campaigns while ensuring protocol compliance and sponsor expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment activity across all active trials, ensure enrollment targets and visit readiness.

• Develop and execute recruitment marketing campaigns; manage ad spend and ROI.

We're looking for a driven, hands-on Recruitment Manager to lead patient recruitment operations and drive consistent, high-quality enrollment across a portfolio of clinical trials. This role blends direct patient engagement, team leadership, marketing oversight, and data-driven performance management — ideal for someone who thrives on ownership and applies structured thinking in a fast-moving, multi-study environment.

What You'll Do

Recruitment Operations

• Own recruitment activity across all active trials, ensuring enrollment volume, protocol compliance, and visit readiness
• Conduct direct patient recruitment via phone, text, and email — screening for eligibility and guiding patients from first contact through enrollment
• Maintain accurate CTMS documentation and keep sponsor/CRO recruitment portals current

Team Leadership

• Lead and coach a team of Patient Recruitment Specialists, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Set individual goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback
• Interview, hire, and train new team members

Reporting & Analytics

• Track and report recruitment KPIs weekly at recruiter, protocol, and indication level
• Monitor campaign effectiveness — cost-per-randomization, screen fail rates, yield by source
• Use data to drive ongoing enrollment optimization

Marketing & Campaigns

• Develop and execute per-protocol advertising campaigns independently and with outside vendors
• Own the recruitment advertising budget, allocating spend for maximum ROI
• Secure IRB approval for all patient-facing materials and keep site/trial web pages current
• Maintain a social media content calendar to sustain patient engagement

Compliance

• Operate in accordance with GCP, protocol requirements, and applicable regulatory standards

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree preferred (health-related field a plus); equivalent experience considered
• Prior experience in a clinical research environment strongly preferred
• Proven people leadership — experience managing, coaching, and holding a team accountable to KPIs (individual-contributor-only recruitment experience is not a fit)
• Comfort engaging directly with senior clinical stakeholders (medical directors, heads of clinical operations)
• Digital/print marketing or social media experience a plus
• Proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce) and CTMS systems
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of clinical trial processes, disease states, and GCP principles
