Job summary

Trinity Health MercyOne Health System is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and visitors and manage front desk operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will schedule appointments, direct calls, and ensure a smooth patient flow with a professional demeanor.

You will verify eligibility, enter demographics into the EHR, and collect copays during visits, supporting clinic staff and ensuring compliance with policies and privacy regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification or obtained within three months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Honest, trustworthy and caring demeanor aligned with Trinity Health values.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients and visitors.
• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
• Validate insurance eligibility and collect copays/deductibles at POS.
• Enter demographics and insurance data into the EHR and other systems.
• Manage time-of-service payments and/or past-due balances at appointment.
