Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and visitors, manage front-desk tasks, and ensure smooth patient flow. You will schedule appointments, answer calls, collect copays, verify insurance, and input demographics into the EHR with accuracy and discretion.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, can read and communicate in English, and demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach within a busy clinic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire.
• Must read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient check-in and ensures admitting process complies with policies.
• Answers phone calls and directs them accordingly.
• Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtains accurate patient and insurance information and collects copays/deductibles.
• Copies/scans patient-related materials into the EHR.
• Maintains front desk operations to support patient flow.
