Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient placement with nursing staff according to departmental guidelines.
• Reviews bed availability daily and notifies appropriate personnel when planned admissions exceed bed capacity.
• Facilitates review of patient assignments and discharges to avoid placing patients off service unless necessary.
• Provides physicians and other healthcare team members with information regarding delays as needed.
• Coordinates inter-facility transfers in compliance with EMTALA and hospital guidelines.
• Directs patients to correct locations, arranges patient transport, answers calls, and provides clerical support.
• Assists in training new employees and serves as work lead for patient services area.
• Provides clear and concise reporting.
