Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a TeleSitter monitor to provide continuous observation and rapid response to at-risk patients using a digital two-way audio system. You will support nursing staff by redirecting behavior and summoning assistance as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/BLS within 90 days, and 6 months of patient care experience, or nursing assistant certification. You will work in a team to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CPR/BLS within 90 days of employment preferred.
• Six months patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting; or no experience if certified as a Nursing Assistant by the Texas Department of Health.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instruction and communicate clearly with hospital staff; respond quickly to patient behavioral changes.
• Prolonged sitting, standing and walking; ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Proficient computer skills with Windows-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous monitoring and observation of patients via TeleSitter system.
• Verbally redirect patients from at-risk behaviors and summon nursing staff as needed.
• Participate in hand-offs and communicate pertinent patient information to oncoming staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies; ensure a safe patient environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to department safety programs.
