Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring for a Patient Observation Assistant at Prisma Baptist - Taylor in Columbia, SC. This full-time role covers 7:00 am to 7:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with rotating weekends, and pays $18.00 per hour.

Prior customer service and CNA experience are preferred, with CPR/AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days if required. The position provides constant patient observation under RN supervision, supports safety and comfort, and involves

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside with the patient unless relieved by staff.
• Escalates to nursing staff if distress or unsafe behavior is observed.
• Assists in maintaining patient safety and a clean, orderly environment.
