Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring for a Patient Observation Assistant at Ascension Columbia Ozaukee, Mequon, WI. This role offers full or part-time schedules with rotating weekends and holidays. The position requires a High School Diploma and allows for progression with CPR/BLS certification within 30 days.

The fixed pay rate is $16.00 per hour. As part of TouchPoint Support Services within Compass Healthcare, you will provide vigilant patient observation under RN direction, collaborate with staff,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Prior patient observation experience preferred.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Interacts hospitably, cheerfully and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and work colleagues.
• Remains at the bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Accompanies patient when diagnostic testing is required.
• Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance or exhibits unusual behavior.
