Crothall Healthcare is hiring PATIENT OBSERVATION ASSISTANT for full-time and part-time roles at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pottsville, PA. The role involves visually monitoring patients under RN direction and maintaining safety and comfort, with 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts for part-time options.

The position requires prior patient care experience, CPR/BLS certification upon hire or training, and the ability to assist with activities of daily living.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Interacts hospitably, cheerfully and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and work colleagues.
• Remains at the bedside of the assigned patient unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Accompanies patient when diagnostic testing is required.
• Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, etc.
