Job summary

Crothall Healthcare is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Patient Observation Assistant positions at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. The role requires prior CNA and patient sitter experience, with a fixed pay rate of $14.00 per hour.

Schedules vary by day and shift; online applications are accepted only. This essential role supports patient safety and comfort under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remain at the bedside of the assigned patient unless relieved by staff.
• Assist with keeping the patient's room safe and orderly and accompany patient to diagnostics.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Participate in hand-offs and ensure coverage during meal breaks.
