Job summary

Crothall Healthcare is hiring a Patient Observation Assistant at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. The role supports medical teams with constant patient observation and safety, under RN direction. Multiple shifts available with full-time and part-time schedules.

Required CNA/patient sitter background and CPR/BLS certification within 30 days, plus ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Local applicants preferred for immediate onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; supports up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior visually and audibly.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Assists in calming and reorienting the patient and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Participates in hand-offs of pertinent information at shift changes.
