Overview

Responsible for patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery and pickup, special requests and needs, in‑between meal food delivery. Communicates patient food issues and needs to team members, interacts with nursing employees regarding nutrition needs and requirements, reacts accurately to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician‑ordered modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient meal service on assigned units (menu selections, tray assembly, delivery, pickup, special requests, in‑between meals).
• Communicate food issues/concerns and patient needs to departmental team members and nursing staff.
• React accurately and effectively to changes, ensuring efficient timing and accurate delivery of modified diets per physician orders.

Education

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – Preferred

Work Experience

• No prior experience required.
• Six months of previous food‑service experience in a hospital setting – Preferred.
