Children’s National Hospital seeks a Hospital Associate to support patient meal service (MyDining). You will secure patient meal selections, address special requests, and ensure dietary needs are met in collaboration with nursing and nutrition staff.

Key responsibilities include handling accurate orders through CNMC and MyDining systems, confirming tray delivery times, and offering diet-compliant alternatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of work experience.
• 6-12 months of food service experience.
• 12 months of customer service experience (retail or food service).
• Ability to translate written instructions into accurate patient meals.
• Knowledge of general nutrition and how to interpret dietary needs into food items.
• Ability to measure portions of special products.
• Ability to perform basic IT data entry and print functions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain professionalism and communicate pertinent information to supervisor, manager, or director.
• Communicate with patient, nursing staff, or visitors per department training.
• Receive and utilize accurate patient meal orders and dietary information.
• Confirm patient needs/requests and discuss tray delivery times with nursing or departmental staff.
• Offer alternatives to prescribed diets within allergies, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Review patient diet information and communicate problems/clarifications to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare, assemble and deliver unit floor stock and patient nourishments.
• Assist dietitian in monitoring patients on NPO or calorie-count diets and coordinate with nursing to ensure diet prescriptions are met.
