Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Food Service Assistant to serve meals to patients and assist with meal ordering. You will help keep the unit pantry stocked and ensure orders are accurate and meet diet requirements.

The role involves tray assembly, following HACCP standards, and working efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment. High school diploma and at least three months of food service experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three months of food service experience required.
• Ability to read, measure accurately and perform basic math skills.
• Ability to communicate to others in a clear concise manner.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner.
• Assists patients and/or family members in placing meal orders.
• Keeps nursing unit floor pantry stocked with supplies.
• Retrieves completed meals from patients’ rooms promptly.
• Checks meals for accuracy and adherence to diet orders.
• Works on tray assembly line and follows HACCP guidelines.
