Job summary

Advocate Health in Oak Lawn, IL seeks a part-time dietary aide to assemble and deliver patient meals, ensure diet restrictions are followed, and assist patients with tray service. The role emphasizes patient care, food safety, and teamwork with nursing staff within a busy hospital setting.

The incumbent will work 3:30PM-9:00PM, 25 hours per week, with pay range $18.85-$28.30 per hour. Prior customer service experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient trays according to menu selections and diet orders.
• Deliver meals and tray carts to designated nursing units within time guidelines.
• Maintain professional appearance and follow department policies and patient interaction standards.
• Assist patients with opening containers, finding utensils, and addressing dietary needs.
• Communicate patient needs to nursing staff and kitchen for accurate service.
• Support QA/CQI activities and document temperatures and tray times as required.
