Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an Entry-level Patient Navigator for Ortho Rhode Island Providence in Providence, RI. The role blends Medical Assistant and Medical Administrator duties, supporting physicians with clinical tasks and handling scheduling, documentation, and care coordination.

The position requires a high school diploma (MA training preferred), strong communication skills, EMR proficiency, and willingness to travel across Rhode Island.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA training preferred.
• Prior experience in a medical office or clinic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with compassionate patient support.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and standard office software.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and healthcare workflows.
• Ability to multitask and adapt between clinical and administrative roles.
• Willingness to travel between Rhode Island locations.

Responsabilités

• Drive clinic process with the physician and team.
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, document histories, and prepare for exams.
• Assist with clinical procedures and exams as needed.
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure exam rooms are ready.
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA regulations for infection control and safety.
• Proficient in EMR software.
• Lead administrative tasks: greet patients, schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up communications.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify coverage.
• Manage patient records and update EMRs.
• Support providers with test results and care coordination.
• Track patient progress and navigation of external resources.
• Manage FMLA/DOL paperwork and RX inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.
