Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago seeks a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant to promote activity and mobility for patients. You will assist with ambulation, positioning, transfers, and meal setup while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Under RN supervision, you will respond to call lights, help with linens, and support age-appropriate care per department policies. Requires HS Diploma and BLS; on-site, team-oriented care environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma is required.
• BLS certification may be required or preferred.
• Ability to respond to patient call lights and maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively ensure activity, ambulation, and mobility of patients.
• Assist with ambulation to the bathroom as needed.
• Assist with unskilled exercises as delegated by RN.
• Assist with patient positioning, proning, transferring, and transporting, including lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Assist patients with sitting up for meals and setting up meal trays.
• Assist in ensuring patient linens are clean and repositioned.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Respond to patient call lights and assist with equipment and storage areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care appropriate to the age of the patients served and age-specific needs as outlined in department standards.
