Job summary

The Mobility Tech at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support patient mobility, including ambulation, transfers, and assisting with exercises and lift equipment.

This role requires strong communication, physical stamina, and BLS certification; successful completion of required training and adherence to MUHA policies is expected. Regular shifts and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support patient mobility: ambulation and transfers.
• Assist patients with exercises and functional activities.
• Perform lifts to chair using lift equipment as directed.
• Follow MUHA policies and participate in required online modules.
