Job summary

Aramark at Connecticut Children's in Hartford, CT is seeking a Tray Passer/Dietary Aide to assist with patient meal preparation, tray assembly, and timely meal service.

You will support the manager with daily reports, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and coordinate with the clinical nutrition team.

The role requires physical stamina, lifting up to 25–30 lbs, and standing for extended periods; benefits include medical, dental, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended time periods, up to 6 hours.
• Requires repetitive motion.
• Required working with chemicals, heated equipment and steam.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient care areas to identify needs and react accordingly.
• Evaluate patient diet orders to ensure all dietary requirements are satisfied appropriately.
• Collaborate with clinical nutrition team when preparing meals, formulas and snacks for patients.
• Identify regular menus in CBORD to properly distribute trays to patients.
• Orient patients and families to Food and Nutrition Programs to meet patient needs.
• Deliver patient trays to the clinical area.
• Escalate customer concerns to a supervisor or manager when appropriate; handle concerns in a self-directed fashion.
• Support patient tray production and assist with meal tray preparation.
• Prepare, portion, assemble and label patient and non-patient food items.
• Stock and maintain patient feeding starter station and storage areas.
• Keep Cold Cart Storage reach-ins clean and organized.
• Assist with pantry inventory, ordering, delivery and stocking; label and rotate pantry stock on patient floors.
• Communicate with Kitchen and diet tech staff via Voalte or other channels.
• Provide customer service and collaborate with clinical support team members.
