Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking staff to assist in hospital food service, preparing and portioning salads and desserts for patient trays and serving in the cafeteria. You will work on the patient tray line, deliver trays, and stock refrigerators and dry storage while following safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include operating the grill, overseeing dishwashing, recording temperatures, and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Healthcare or institutional food services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions salads and desserts for patient trays.
• Works on the patient tray line and delivers trays to patients.
• Inventories and stocks refrigerators and dry storage per departmental procedures.
• Serves in the cafeteria and operates the grill; stocks and cleans the area after service.
• Follows safe food handling practices and records required temperatures.
• Operates the dish machine and ensures proper cleaning and storage of wares.
