Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO seeks an experienced Registered Dietitian to lead patient meal services within the Culinary Service department. This role oversees daily operations, implements clinical best practices, and leads quality initiatives to deliver exceptional patient meals while managing cost and regulatory compliance.

Expect 40 hours weekly, with pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Dietetics, Nutrition or Management
• Registered Dietitian certification within 6 months of hire
• ServSafe certification obtained by first day of work (where required)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and scheduling applications
• Experience with quality improvement initiatives
• Preferred: hospital food service operations and therapeutic diets expertise
• Experience with nutrition software and tracking systems

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of patient meal services
• Partners with nursing to educate and follow guidelines
• Leads patient meal areas and trains in therapeutic diets
• Implements clinical best practices for cost-effective care
• Provides value-based leadership to high-functioning teams
• Manages hiring, training, evaluating and discipline
• Ensures food safety and regulatory compliance
• Monitors quality and satisfaction scores and plans improvements
• Communicates nutrition expertise with healthcare providers
• Collaborates with clinical team on diet orders
