Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join the inpatient team. You will assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop care plans and provide medical nutrition therapy in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.

Responsibilities include nutrition screening, charting in the EMR, patient and family education, and participation in interdisciplinary rounds. Mentoring and adherence to standards are also expected.

Qualifications

• RD/RDN credential required or eligible for licensure
• State licensure or eligibility required or pending
• Clinical/inpatient nutrition experience preferred
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is desirable
• ServSafe or food-safety training is a plus

• Perform comprehensive inpatient nutrition assessments and screenings
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
• Provide medical nutrition therapy for diverse acute and chronic conditions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on diet, disease management and discharge plans
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists and care managers on rounds
• Monitor and adjust nutrition interventions based on clinical changes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital nutrition standards
• Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based nutrition initiatives
• Precept or mentor dietetic interns or new team members as needed
