Job summary

Banner Health’s Banner Staffing Services-WR is seeking a dietary aide to provide patient meal service and assist Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians with menu management. You will deliver meals, process patient requests and maintain high standards of food quality and sanitation.

Role requires reading, writing and basic math, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use POS and business software.

Qualifications

• Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Skill and knowledge of nutrition services as typically gained through one to two years of related experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude.
• Ability to learn and work with business computer software and point of sale systems; learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests.

Responsibilities

• Greet and visit patients to obtain or discuss menu selections and record daily meals for units.
• Follow modified diets and edit patient menus as required with Diet Tech or Dietitian assistance.
• Provide patient meal service, set up tray stations and assemble patient trays.
• Deliver meals and handle special requests, snacks and nourishments.
• Provide excellent customer service on the phone or in person and resolve complaints.
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare staff to manage menus and trays.
