Job summary

GRMC in Silver City, NM is seeking a Food Service Specialist to assist patients with menu selections and deliver meals promptly, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining strict sanitation standards.

You will support diet restrictions, assist with food preparation, service, and cashier duties, and coordinate with Nursing and Dietetics staff to ensure nutritional requirements are met.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in professional cooking and food preparation preferred.
• Experience with kitchen sanitation and safety rules.
• Ability to operate a cash register or cash handling system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food following health rules and regulations.
• Deliver and collect menus in a timely manner.
• Plan food production to align with meal serving hours.
• Store and rotate stock with proper dating.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Provide meals and snacks per diet orders and communicate with patient/family.
• Assist with tray assembly and transport to nursing units.
• Perform cashier functions and reconcile cash.
• Keep supplies stocked and inventory maintained.
• Ensure HIPAA policies are followed.
• Adhere to safety and emergency procedures.
