Qualifications

• Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Skills and knowledge of nutrition services as typically gained through one to two years of related experience.
• The food handlers’ card is required within 30 days of hire (not required for some Banner Staffing Services roles in certain locations).

Responsibilities

• Visit patients to obtain or discuss menu selections based on dietary orders and record daily meal selections.
• Edit patient menus and request Diet Tech or Dietitian assistance when needed.
• Provide patient meal service, set up tray work stations and assemble trays.
• Deliver and serve meals, handling special requests and snacks as appropriate.
• Provide excellent customer service in person or by phone and resolve complaints effectively.
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with patients, families, other food service staff, nurses and dietitians to maintain quality and dietary compliance.
