Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker to assist with patient meal delivery and meal setup, leveraging the Avera CARE standards. You will operate the hospital's food service software, communicate effectively with diet and clinical teams, and ensure accurate meal documentation for patients.

Responsibilities include delivering meals, assisting with trays, recording intake, and helping maintain safety and sanitation throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and maintain visual acuity.

Responsibilities

• Operates the food service software for recording patient and guest meal orders.
• Communicates with staff and other departments regarding diet orders and patient requests.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food production, nutrition, and therapeutic diets.
• Delivers meals to patient rooms promptly and assists with meal setup.
• Picks up trays after meals and records meal and fluid intake in the EMR.
• Maintains stock, cleans work areas, and tracks food costs as part of daily duties.
• Adheres to safety, sanitation, and health guidelines for food service.
